Plans and billing

Change plan, update a card, and what happens if a payment fails.

On this page

Everything about your subscription lives in your account.

Changing plan

Upgrade or downgrade at any time. An upgrade unlocks within minutes — the app checks in periodically, and there is nothing to reinstall or restart beyond opening the newly unlocked page.

A downgrade takes effect at your next renewal. If the new plan covers fewer shops than you are running, you choose which stay active rather than having one picked for you.

Adding shops or tills

Both are add-ons on any plan, billed monthly. Add them from your account, or the app will offer when you try to set up one more than you have room for.

Updating your card

Through Manage billing in your account, which opens Stripe's billing portal. Cards, invoices, and receipts are all there. We never see or store your card number.

If a payment fails

Nothing dramatic happens, and nothing happens immediately.

  1. We retry the card over the following days — most failures are an expired card and recover on their own.
  2. You get a banner in the app and an email.
  3. If it is still unpaid after two weeks, the paid extras lock. The till keeps selling.
  4. Only after that, and only as a deliberate decision by a person who has looked at the account, would it be cut off.
A billing problem should never stop you trading

A POS that refuses to take money because of a declined card turns a card problem into a queue of customers at a counter. Losing Manufacturing for a fortnight is pressure enough; losing the till is not a lever, it is an outage — and one we would have caused.

Working offline

The app confirms your subscription periodically and then works offline for a set number of days — fourteen by default. If your connection is genuinely unreliable, ask us and we will extend it for your account.

If a till has been off for longer than that, connect it to the internet and restart. It picks up where it left off.

Cancelling

Cancel from the billing portal. At the end of the period you have paid for, the app becomes read-only.

Nothing is deleted. Your sales, products, customers, and reports are all still there, on your own computer, and you can export any of it. Come back later and everything continues where it left off.

Being billed by invoice

Enterprise accounts paying by transfer have no card on file, so the billing portal has nothing to show. Get in touch for statements and renewals.

Something here wrong or missing? Tell us — we would rather fix it than have you work around it.
